General Skilled Migration visas are points tested skilled visas which provide opportunities for skilled workers to live and work in Australia.
Under this program, skilled migrant can use their qualification, work experience, English language proficiency and age to meet the requirement for a permanent residency. Points tested skilled visas do not require you to have an employer.
Skilled Independent Visa Subclass 189
Australia offers the Skilled – Independent Visa (subclass 189) to attract skilled workers that are not sponsored by an employer, state, territory, or family member in Australia.
This visa allows you to live and work in Australia permanently. To apply for this visa, the applicant must have an occupation on the relevant skilled occupation list, have positive skills assessment for the occupation, submits an Expression of Interest (EOI). And receive the invitation to apply for the visa after satisfying the points test by Australian Government.
Skilled Nominated Visa subclass 190
This visa is designed to enable invited skilled applicants in or outside Australia, to apply for a permanent residence visa after being nominated by an Australian state or territory government. The visa allows the holder to stay permanently in Australia, travel in and out in the country, work, bring member of the family or study and apply Medicare card.
Skilled Regional provisional Visa subclass 491
This visa is designed to decentralised skilled people in regional Australia and encourages applying for a provisional visa in specific designated migration area, after being nominated by an Australian State or Territory government agency or sponsored by an eligible relative living in a designated area.
The visa allows the holder to live, work and study in a specified regional area of Australia, to bring family and to travel to and from Australia. The visa is granted for 5 years. After 3 years the applicants eligible to apply for permanent visa subclass 191.
